I have known about Memphis May Fire since their inception, but only began listening to them after the release of their full length Sleepwalking.  In a scene that is over saturated with auto tune and synth they break away and keep to the tradition formula, if such a name can be applied.  The band is comprised of a vocalist, two guitarists, a bassist, and drummer.  I am not a huge fan of Southern Rock, but this band is unbelievably talented.  Every song on this CD is good from start to finish.  This in turn, makes this whole CD from start to finish a none stop roller coaster of great music.  The songs range from rock ballad to jazz/soul interlude to metalcore breakdown.  What is so great about this album is that the songs are all very catchy and usually somewhere into the song they hit you with a hook or breakdown that gives you the chills.  The lyrics are so compelling and have this raw emotion that makes you sing along and curious about the story behind them.  They recently released an EP entitled Between The Lies.  The album did not receive as much praise as I would have liked.  AP only gave it an average rating.  I tend to respect the reviews that AP gives, but at the same time I have learned that you must also make up your own mind.  I have yet to get my hands on the Between The Lies, but as soon as I do I will be able to tell whether it was worth purchasing (I am one of the few people who still actually, buy CD's).  If Sleepwalking is representation of what this band is capable of their following CD's should be at least on the same level if not better.  Go pick up Sleepwalking and their self titled Memphis May Fire EP, who Josh Grabelle, president of Trustkill Records said,"absolutely every song is bone-chillingly perfect, and timeless."
