For Fans Of: The Used, From First To Last, Marilyn Is Dead

In the last two years there have been an emergence of quite a few super bands.  Is it really any wonder?  In this scene it's becoming common place for a member of a band to have played in two or three other bands at any point in time.  This band's members come from From First to Last, Chiodos, Underminded, and Story of the Year.  This CD was definitely one of the more highly anticipated of this year and it delivers.  Their sound is similar to that of The Used and even that art direction that they chose echos The Used CD designs.  Greg 'craola' Simkins and Alex Pardee are both extremely talented visual artists and both have work that are from the same vein.  The album is well rounded most likely because of the resume of seasoned touring musicians and well as a talented producer that they were familiar with.  What I was most excited about what they rerecorded version of Thermacare now The Only Thing You Talk About.  That song generated so many hits on Youtube in such a short amount of time.  Every time it was put up it would generate in the thousands of hits before it was taken down.  The sound they compose throughout the album is consistent.  Admittedly it took a few listens through to get hooked on the songs that weren't on their Myspace (Mr. Owl At My Metal Worn and If You Think This Song Is About You Then It Probably It Is).  This album is worth the buy even in the sense of its novelty, but it will not disappoint you.  Once you get past their singles, give the other songs on the album some time and they will grow on you and your CD/media player.
