I found this gem while searching bands similar to La Disupte and what a find it was.  Pianos Become The Teeth's sound is hard to describe, but it is loaded with a powerful energy and visceral emotion.  Old Pride delivers the listener with a mood that is reminiscent of the angst charged lyrics.  The instrumental work in all of the songs transition between wildly intense to melodic and calm.  The contrast between these musical shifts is something to behold.  Contrast is a major part of any song of any genre and I have to thank Sean Malone for teaching me that.  The band utilizes this contrast to their advantage by hitting the listener with a relentless musical force and then pulling away almost to allow the listener to take in what they just heard.  Their vocal style is similar to Circle Takes The Square's, rather than being sung they are yelled/screamed.  Most bands that try and use these type of vocals fall terribly short on the delivery and tend to comes off as lacking musical talent.  Pianos Become The Teeth succeeds admirably here and the vocals make you feel the deeper meaning in each song.  By the end of each song if you are not curious about each story within the lyrics you should be.  The music they write is drawing from personal life experience which gives each song that much more meaning.  Give this album a listen and you will surely understand the passion and fury that went into the writing.  This band is definitely for the more seasoned listeners who have developed a taste for a more diverse spectrum of music.  For everyone else just give this album a few listens and realize these guys are truly talented.
