Dream Status opens with a song titled "Summary."  This intro alone gives a broad preview of what the next six songs will include.  The EP contains three new songs, four if you include the intro as well as three old.  Alive, In Standby is one of my favorite bands, and their  CD is easily one of my favorite in my collection and garnishes plays in the high hundreds in my iTunes.  It's energetic, emotional, soulful, heavy, and refreshing.

Much of the music that is apart of this scene moves toward a heavy and predominately overbearing sound.  Don't get me wrong I love the BR00TAL stuff, but it tends to get quite repetitive.  Alive In Standby does an incredible job of combining the melodic with the heavy.  I won't lie, I have a penchant for vocalist who do more than just sing the lyrics.  Chris brings words to life with his vocal stylings and he talents should be realized, but Alive, In Standby real hooks me as a whole.  I went to their CD release show which was also my first time seeing them live and they killed it.  Their was a precision and accuracy echoed their album, but their slight differences made the live show new and exciting.  Though all the members in the bands, much like most bands today, are younger and I am, I recognize their ability to write great music and it baffles me that Alive, In Standby isn't more popular.  Buy this album, this band is incredible as well as one of my favorites and anyone who appreciates this scene would enjoy these seven tracks!
